About Crunch Labs

Crunch Labs is a small, independent studio that builds simple, free tools.

We make calculators for everyday Hong Kong questions – how much salaries tax will I pay, what goes into my MPF, what stamp duty is due on a flat – because the official rules are public but scattered across long pages and PDFs. Our aim is to turn those rules into tools that give a clear answer and show exactly how it was reached.

How we keep the numbers right

• We take every rate, allowance and threshold directly from official sources: the Inland Revenue Department, GovHK, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
• Each calculator page lists those sources and the date we last checked them.
• Our formulas are tested against the government's own worked examples and against the exact band edges before anything is published.
• When a measure has only been proposed (for example in a Policy Address) and is not yet law, we say so and leave it out of the calculation.

Independence

We are not affiliated with the Hong Kong SAR Government, the IRD, the MPFA or any bank, agent or adviser. The site is free to use and may be supported by advertising, which never affects the results.

Contact

We don't run a contact form, and the calculators don't collect what you type. If you spot an error or a rate that has changed, please note the calculator, the inputs you used and a link to the official page that shows the correct figure – that lets us check and fix it quickly.
